Time is short and opposition mounts against IPAB

The fight continues against the threat of arbitrary payment cuts to physician services by a non-elected panel of bureaucrats if Medicare's growth rate exceeds a statutory threshold. As called for in the Affordable Care Act, the Independent Payment Advisory Board is charged with slashing fees to hit budget targets. The clock is ticking because recent Medicare spending trends could trigger the mandate in 2017, meaning provider payment rate cuts effective in 2019 will be imposed unless Congress acts. CSEPS joined AAO and 700 other organizations in the Protect My Doctor and Me Coalition to call for a repeal of IPAB. Read the letter here and add your voice to efforts to oppose IPAB
