The news is not good regarding the 2021 proposed Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and we need your help contacting the Colorado Congressional Delegation to stop the cuts. Strident calls by ophthalmology and other surgical specialties appear to have fallen on deaf ears at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as they announced no changes to evaluation and management (E/M) coding. As a result, ophthalmologists like you face a minimum 6% cut starting in January 2021. There is still time to avert these cuts but action is needed right now by focusing on Congress. CSEPS strongly supports the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s efforts and encourages all Colorado ophthalmologists to contact their representatives in opposition to these proposed cuts. Visit the AAO advocacy action page for more information, talking points and other resources for your use in advocating for this critical change.
